How to take apart a CPU (2)

In the last few weeks, we had been working on how to take apart a PC and install a new operation system to that PC.
To take apart a PC, first you have to unlock the safety lock for the case, remember different PC has different designs, some you have to unlock and some unscrewed. Then unscrewed the screws around the harddrive, then unplugged all the power cable, do the same to the power supply and slowly pull it away. After that, unscrewed all the screws around the motherboard, remove the safety pin and slowly took away the CPU (The CPU is extremely important please be careful). At last, pull away the motherboard.
To install a new operation system, firstly we have to make sure the PC had read the disc in te disc reader, then pressed F2 to install the system, after pressing F2 it should appears a bunch of codes and instruction, just leave it and wait for a few minutes, the system should start installing by itself. After that, set your user name and password and other settings like locations, time, background... etc. At last, you can enjoy your new operation system.

07-06-11 ICT lesson

I had learnt that we should not 100% rely on information's released from the internet and media, sometimes informations had been edited to appeal audience, or maybe political issues, therefore we must considered who produced it? What are the evidences or source to prove this incident? We must be careful not to stereotyping others when we produced a film or movie, sometimes we might accidentally stereotyped others, maybe gender is the most common thing to be stereotyped, for example, people always thinks that boys must be tough, brave, strong, stocky and sweaty, girls must be careful, soft, sweet. We shouldn't add our personal feelings or opinion into the incident, we should always stay in the middle.
Media's key concept is to pass "true" messages to the audience, to prove that the information is either true or not, we can do researches on the web(but don't rely on Wikipedia too much), look for informations from the newspaper. To keep it real and true, we should never stereotype or add own opinion to the information, otherwise it would be unfair to everyone or things in the incident.

Pressing Issues: Wikileaks

Wikileaks discusses a lot about global affairs, it focous on political problems all around the world. This is one of the sources to online news, the problem is that too many people from around the world uses this site. Therefore, many others that wants to go on to this site may not have access to it.

But why is this related to ICT and pressing issues? Firstly ICT stands Information Communication Technology, and Wikileaks is an website which releases information and secret files. And Wikileaks always release information that a lot of country don't want to release, mostly United States. A lot of country has blocked wikileaks because of that reason.

Search Tips!

Searching engine helps us a lot! But if we don't know how to use it, it still doesn't help us. Here are some tips:
1. Don't search in a single word.
A searching engine like google and yahoo, do the searching with keywords, whenever they scan a similar word it will appear in the list.
2. Try to search in a phrase or sentence.
To reduce error search, you can search in a phrase, because the more word you type in the less matches will available.
3. Add specific word
For example if you search the word "plane", there will be tones of images and information about plane, but if you type "Air Bus A380" there will be information about the Air Bus a380

Case Study

Yesterday night, I saw a article of a newspaper,  it was about the owner of Dallas Mavericks (a famous NBA basketball club), Mark Cuban, was fined during the 2006 NBA playoffs for criticizing Dwyane Wade and the NBA officials in his blog. I think everyone should think before they leave any comment.

Nick Vujicic : Never feel sad

This video is about Nick Vujicic, Nick born in Australia in 1982 (age: 27), he was legless when he was born, he has no arms and no legs, everyone say he is so unlucky, but for himself he think he is a really lucky person because he can see things in different view. After watching this video, I think no one can really feel they are unlucky or poor, we should think positive and encourage our friends.
